We are asking all patients who are sick with respiratory symptoms or who have family members sick with respiratory cold symptoms, including fever, dry cough, and/or difficulty breathing, to please CALL the office for a PHONE CONSULT to determine how best we can help you and your family during this time of need.
For patients who are undergoing chemotherapy or have low white blood cell counts, please take extra safety measures to limit exposure to pathogens by wearing a mask and/or gloves when going outside of your home.
For everyone, please do the following:
Try to maintain 6' distance from non-family members while outside your home.
Please wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or use hand sanitizer as needed to limit spread of germs.
Cough into your elbow and limit touching your face (eyes, mouth, nose) to limit spread of germs.
Eat healthy foods, drinking plenty of water, getting adequate sleep and exercise to keep your immune system healthy.
Stay loving, kind, calm and relaxed! Use this period of time similar to a stay-cation because getting all stressed out can lower your immune system. Instead, breathe deeply, meditate, take a nice hot bath, listen to happy music or do other calming or laughter-inducing activities.
Stay in contact with others through phone, computer, video chats, etc. to help avoid social isolation.
Peace and blessings, Dr H

What is a Naturopathic Physician or Doctor? A Natural Doctor is a licensed Naturopathic Physician (called ND) in Connecticut. NDs are rigorously trained in standard medical diagnoses in conjunction with a variety of natural approaches to disease, health and wellness. This broader scope of practice allows patients the benefit of seeing one doctor to treat many conditions while using natural therapies individually designed for each person and their unique characteristics. A Naturopathic physician treats people with diagnosed medical conditions, sub-clinical pathologies (i.e. you don’t feel well but all your labs come back normal), and those who are looking to optimize their health. NDs use many different treatment approaches such as diet and lifestyle counseling, nutrition, herbal therapy, physical medicine, acupuncture, qi gong or yoga, homeopathy, mind-body medicine, tui na massage, water therapy, and craniosacral therapy.
Natural treatments are very effective and often much safer than most prescription medications, because they are easily recognized by the body due to their similar structure and composition. Hence, there are fewer side effects from natural medicines and your body is more able to use them appropriately to improve health and wellness. If you are looking for safe and natural ways to treat the root cause of your conditions and want to achieve optimal wellness, start by submitting questions and posting messages in our blog!

Dr Hessberger is intelligent, kind and likes to research information. I recommend her highly. In several instances she has known things that no MD has informed me of. Her degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology makes her a cut above the rest of the majority of ND's.." Lisa Taylor-Austin
